When purchasing a piece from our website, you may notice a ‘Made to Order’ description.
But what does this actually mean?
Made to order is a production method where jewellery is only made once the customer has placed their order. There are two core benefits to this production method:
The business is able to reduce waste caused by over producing stock pieces as materials aren’t ordered until a purchase is made
It allows for each customer to be able to create a truely individualised order
It’s not just a more sustainable approach, but a far more sentimental one too. It means each piece will be uniquely made just for you, creating a beautiful heirloom that can be passed down for generations.
So what does this mean for the creation of your piece?
When you purchase your piece, it goes through many stages before it lands in your hands.
Each of these processes are carefully undertaken to ensure the highest quality product is delivered to you.
During each stage, quality control processes ensure we assess the metals, stones and assembly of the piece. Issues can arise with general wear and tear, however we strive to make the most durable, quality product to last you a lifetime. And to create a product to last a life time - well, it takes time!
Production Timeframes and Customisation
When purchasing a piece from our website, you will be able to find an approximate production time written in the product description on each product page.
On occasion, we create ‘One of a Kind’ items which are Ready to Ship on purchase. This will also be indicated on the product page.
It’s important to note that each of our core pieces can be customised. If you choose to customise a core piece, for example with a different gemstone choice, extra time will be required to source that special stone or add in unique details.
When engaging in our Bespoke process, you’ll be presented with an approximate timeline to give you a sense of when your unique piece will be completed. This timeline will encompass the design process as well as the sourcing of all the individual components.
Made to Order allows small businesses a unique opportunity to fully customise work for their clients whilst also reducing the environmental impact of over production. It’s a production method we are proud to model at Ashleigh Moore Design and we know it will create a far more personalised, sentimental approach for our customer.
